Kent Police seek public’s help to find vehicle reportedly used in home invasion

Suspects allegedly entered West Hill home and later might have broken into East Hill home

Kent Police are seeking the public’s help to locate a vehicle reportedly used in a home invasion robbery by several suspects.

Police released a photo of the vehicle, an older model silver Hyundai Santa Fe with no rear plates, allegedly used in a home invasion robbery at about 4 a.m. Monday, Aug. 28 on the West Hill near South 254th Street, according to a Kent Police news release. The photo was captured from a video of suspects leaving the vehicle. Kent Police posted the video on its Facebook page.

Several suspects allegedly entered the home by breaking in the front door, pointed handguns at the residents, and demanded money, according to police. The suspects were described as male, 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall, wearing dark clothing, black masks and gloves. One suspect may have been wearing red pants.

The suspects reportedly were seen fleeing from the residence in the vehicle.

A short time later at about 4:27 a.m., three suspects kicked in the door to a residence on the East Hill of Kent. Three “dark skinned males” entered the home and pointed a gun at the homeowner, according to police. The suspects fled when the home alarm sounded. No vehicle was seen at this incident, but due to the similarity in forced entry to the home, time of day and use of a handgun, Kent detectives are investigating if these incidents are related.

If you have information about the vehicle’s whereabouts, please call 911 immediately. Do not approach or enter the vehicle.
